We arrive in London early in the morning sometime around 10:00 AM so depending on how tired we are we might be off and running. In any case, we’ll keep you up to date as best we can when we can get an internet connection. The hotel we’ll stay at is the Kensington Close in London, for two nights.
You can see on the map the route we will take along with the towns we’ll pass and also stay overnight. Our trip will include the Edinburgh, Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands and a boat tour to the Isle of Skye in Scotland; Giant’s Causeway, Dingle Peninsula, and the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland; and in England, we are stopping at a number of sites, but most importantly Stonehenge. For more information on the trip itinerary go to cosmos_trip_overview=09090 (Cosmos’ web page, they are the company we are traveling with).
In Edinburgh, we will see Scotland’s Crown Jewels and attend the military tattoo. 2010 marks the Diamond Jubilee Year of Edinburgh's celebrated Royal Military Tattoo and performed against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. This year’s celebration includes Pipe and Drum bands from four continents, including the U. S. (If you need more information, go to Edinburgh_tattoo )
In Ireland, while overnight in the town of Ennis, we plan on going to a medieval banquet at Bunratty Castle. How neat is that? The tour has an optional dinner evening at the Guinness Storehouse during our overnight in Dublin. Hmmm, do we go? Don’t forget Carmen does not drink beer. Maybe I’ll have had enough Guinness by then.
Until our stop in London, see you later, Bob and Carmen.
Oh. By the way, if you haven’t seen our other travel blogs here they are:
http://bobcarmen.blogspot.com/ which is our first major trip in the motorhome after Carmen and I both retired. It is a trip across the country and back again, Maine to Florida via Montana and California.
And http://bobandcarmengowalkabout.blogspot.com/ is a blog of our trip to New Zealand, Australia and Fiji. I know not everyone is a Lord of the Rings fan, but while in New Zealand, we traveled through many areas where filming of the movie took place.
And they're off! This will be so much fun. I can't wait to hear your adventures and see your pictures. Guiness or not.....time will tell.
