EIS – Knappouge Castle Dinner (Day 13)
(8/30/2010) This evening we are going to Knappouge Castle for a dinner and show. Just to set the mood, we pass an old church ruin.
And speaking of Knappouge Castle, it is an imposing sight.
The ladies and men in the show were all dressed in period costumes. Mead, my Lord?
The show had a violinist and harpist.
And story telling.
There was singing.
Two couples from our tour group, not Carmen and me, were chosen as Kings and Queens. That's them now, the four on the right. Get that wave right. The sword is presented to start the festivities.
Let the feast begin!
More singing.
More storytelling.
More feasting.
More singing.
More storytelling and singing.
Dancing.
And, with dinner done, the finale.
A final farewell and don’t forget to pick up your sword on the way out. All in all this was a fun night with good entertainment. By the way, the upper floors of the tower have living quarters for the people who own the castle. Sometimes they are in residence.
Until later, Bob and Carmen – EIS.
